Dora Márquez

Dora Marquez — Dora, one of Pooh's adventurous friends.

Dora Márquez is the tomboyish, nauseatingly adorable, sugary sweet and unbearably beautiful 7 year old titular main character in the TV series Dora the Explorer and Dora and Friends: Into the City. As of Into the City, she is 10 years old.

Interests[]

Dora enjoys sports, especially soccer. She played on a baseball team with Yang and her other partners and was coached by her father (who has never been depicted as having other employment before or since). She loves and excels at soccer. Dora is also a musician, skilled at playing a wooden flute and the guitar.

Personality[]

Dora is a very resourceful girl, and a good friend to everyone, including to the viewers at home. She is kind, cheerful, brave and caring to everyone. But however, on some occasions, she can get a little mad or annoyed at times. These were shown when a scarecrow scared Baby Blue Bird. And when the Big Green Train and the Big Red Train were teasing Azul. Despite that, Dora's quick-thinking, smart and friendly. And she is always eager to help her friends out of trouble.

Dora is a young girl with a pink t-shirt that sometimes reveals her belly button, orange shorts, frilly yellow socks, and white Velcro shoes with a pink trim along with other outfits. She wears a yellow bracelet with a blue flower bracelet as it happened to be a birthday present when she was four. She also carries Backpack on her back.

Dora will guest star in Pooh's Adventures of Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School.
Dora will make her first appearance in Tino Tonitini and The Book of Life.
In Liam's Adventures of Pokemon the Series, Dora will appear in Securing the Future! where she, along with all her friends(including Swiper the Fox) is shown to join the rest of Alola in showering Necrozma with light so it could return to its normal form.
Dora will debut in A Bounsweet Relationship!.

Dora is shown to care for her Pokémon's wellbeing than winning a contest as shown in The Bug Stops Here when her Aipom, Boots became infatuated by a female Ledian during the Bug-Catching Contest.
She revealed to have the ability to translate what Pokemon are saying as of Liam's Adventures of Pokemon the Series, much like she did to animals. She later mentions her first Pokemon and starter was Turtwing nicknamed Arbol (which is Spanish for tree), and her first capture was Lillipup named Perrito (which is Spanish for puppy). Arbol and Perrito are best friends and get along like Dora and Boots. (Note: Most of her nicknamed Pokemon are in Spanish)
She first appeared as a cameo in A Scare in the Air, where she was seen spotting a falling blimp, where she officially join Liam's group allies in The Lost Lapras.
It's unknown what Dora's exact nationality is despite being Latina. The show never specifically mentioned her true nationality.
Dora is a Latina. Early concepts of Dora had her as a blonde girl of European ancestry. The character was originally based on a niece, Lilli, of Rick Velleu, one of the creators of the show.
Dora was originally going to be a little bunny, Benjamin Bunny who went on adventures with his mom everyday, then they grew to a little girl named Tess, and then Nina.
Dora (along with Backpack) is the only one never to get Character Find at the end of each episode during the end credits.
Boots to the Rescue is the only episode Dora doesn't travel with Boots because she's at school and he runs there right away to bring her song to her. It's also the only episode where she makes a minor appearance and doesn't appear as the first character to begin the episode like she always does. Boots is the first character and the host instead of her.
Dora is also voiced by Kathleen Herles even as a doll or a toy.

Dora's last name was mentioned twice in Dora the Explorer, Grandma's House and Surprise!, when Boots addressed Mami as "Señora Márquez".
Whenever Dora and Boots travel anywhere, they sing the Travel Song but when they're done with their adventure, they sing We Did It!.
Whenever Dora and Boots sing songs, sometimes they would cut the songs off during them singing and due to emergencies or sometimes they'd just cut them off for a timeout when the instrumentals are rolling and getting the viewer's attention of how they should sing them like if they wanted to in special ways.
Dora doesn't always travel with Boots in every episode even though they're best friends and are meant to be together, she only travels with Isa once as his replacement in Isa's Unicorn Flowers and she sometimes travels with Swiper whenever he's on his good side or she sometimes travels with both Boots and Swiper with or without Boots, however, she also sometimes travels alone without Boots or anyone with her.
Whenever Dora gets mad sometimes, she never seems to make any angry looks throughout the series, not even once.
In Sammy's Valentine, Dora doesn't make her appearance herself, her picture is only seen on Diego's Valentine card.
Dora is never seen crying throughout the series even though she sometimes gets a little mad.
- Although she does get irritated by Team Rocket's antics, and is shown to stand up to those who try and hurt her friends, this was shown where she and her Surskit worked together to stop Team Rocket.
Dora was played by Madelyn Miranda (6) and Isabela Moner (16) in Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
In Tiktok, Dora is called Blind, for unknown reasons
Dora is often the voice of reason, due to stopping fights from people and Pokemon. This was displayed in A Way Off Day Off, where Dora stops a feud.
In PJ090, Despite rewinding back to her younger self, Dora's young self was shown to be unaffected by it as well and couldn't rewind any further, implying she was immune to being turned into an infant unlike the others did.
She even consoled Litten later to be Ash's, after the elderly Stoutland that Litten looked after had passed away.
In Dorande (LAoM:ToLaCN), she is akumatized into Dorande after protecting Mio from an akuma.
- She still tried to fight it off, but still became akumatized after Hawk Moth offered to give her the power to "help all children become good".
In Ryan's Adventures Series, while she is one of Ryan's allies, she was Connor Lacey's idol and she sympathetically felt sorry that Connor Lacey died thanks to his stepmother, Linda Caro. While she became an ally of Liam's and Ryan's teams, she decided not to become a Lyoko warrior.
