- In the anime, she is voiced by Lara Star Rigores, while in Pokemon Masters, she is voiced by Erica Mendez.
- In the game, she has a fear of Ghost Type Pokémon. She says "What if there is a Grass/Ghost Pokémon?". This type combination appeared two generations later in Generation VI with the debut of Phantump, Trevenant, Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist. The next generation, Generation VII, would also introduce Decidueye and Dhelmise who also have the Grass and Ghost-type combination.
- Gardenia's Cherrim is underleveled at Level 20 as Cherubi evolves at Level 25.
