Scarecrow is one of the three tritagonists who appears in The Wizard of Oz. is one of Dorothy's friends she met while she was on her way to the Emerald City to seek help from the Wizard of Oz. He came along with her because all he wanted was a brain.
Appearance[]
Scarecrow is made completely out of straw. He wears a dark brown hat, a dark green shirt with white gloves. He also wears brown trousers with a blue patch on the left side. And he also has dark brown pointed shoes.
Personality[]
Scarecrow is the smartest scarecrow in all of Oz. He's got a brain that's as big as big can be. However, in "Scarecrow Knows Best", he didn't know how to build a bridge, Dorothy and her friends showed him how. Now, Scarecrow learned that it was always good to learn new things. Aside from his smartness, Scarecrow also has a huge crush on Patchwork Girl, and he always stammers gibberish before falling backwards swooning. However, Scarecrow is smart, wise and helpful to everyone, and is always eager to share his knowledge and come up with ideas to solve problems.

- Scarecrow was the first character that Dorothy and Toto interacted with in the 1939 Wizard of Oz film.
- His voice actor, Bill Fagerbakke, also voiced Patrick Star from the show, SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as the voice of Grimace from McDonald's since 2003.
- The Scarecrow has been portrayed and voiced by many actors, but the most notable portrayal is by the late singer, dancer and actor, Ray Bolger.
