The Super Emeralds are a set of seven emeralds in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are transformed from the Chaos Emeralds with the help of the Master Emerald, and are basically an enhanced version of the Chaos Emeralds. Super Emeralds made their first, and so far, the only game appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, in which, they were the collectible items (replacing the Chaos Emeralds) in the second half of the game (the Sonic & Knuckles Zones) as long as the player has collected all seven Chaos Emeralds beforehand.
