The Great One is the main antagonist of Pooh's adventures with Doctor Who: Planet of the Spiders.
A starship crash landed on the planet Metebelis III, with earth spiders on board. The blue crystals of Metebelis III caused the spiders to get bigger and smarter. 433 years later, the spiders had enslaved the humans, forcing them to harvest their food and ate the humans themselves (though they also ate sheep).
One of these spiders grew bigger than the others, and called herself the Great One. She decided to conquer the universe, and needed only the crystal that the Doctor stole from Metebelis III and given to Jo Grant as a wedding present.
Being huger than the other spiders, the Great One lived in a cave made of Metebelis crystals, which can destroy body cells. Using her psychic powers, she could see how scared of her the Doctor, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Tennessee Tuxedo, Simba, Poky Little Puppy, RED Soldier and RED Heavy were of her.
Later, the Doctor and his friends returned to the Great One's cave with the crystal, which was the last perfect crystal she needed. This completed the web of crystals which lay above her head.
Infinite power and knowledge were fed into her mind, but she couldn't contain all of it. This caused her mind to burn and she died.
- The Great One is voices by Maureen Morris.
- The Spiders don't like to be called spiders. They prefer to be called Eight-Legs, and they call the humans Two-Legs.
"If you come any further, Doctor, you will die! Oh, not at once, but gradually every cell in your body will be irretrievably damaged by the crystal rays, and I need you alive."
"You took the one last perfect crystal of power. I searched all time and all space for it. I must have it!"
"You are proud, little man. I see that I shall have to teach you to have respect. Round you go, Doctor!"
"Is that fear I can feel in your mind? You are not accustomed to feeling frightened, are you, Doctor? You are very wise to be afraid of me. Go now. You must hurry back and fetch the crystal. I must have it, don't you understand? I must have it! I must! I must! I must! Go now. Go! Go! Go now!"
"You think I care for the puny plans of my subjects? Earth? One paltry planet among millions? Give me the crystal. I thirst for it! I ache for it!"
"All praise to the Great One! All praise to me! Bow down before me, planets! Bow down, stars! Bow down, all galaxies and worship the Great One! The me! The Great, all-powerful me! Argh! I hurt! Help me! I'm burning! My brain is on fire! HELP ME! ARGH!"
